What is trauma?

How does therapy work?

Behavioral health therapy is a type of treatment that helps people improve their mental health by facilitating healing and creating change. It often involves identifying the root causes of problems and developing strategies to overcome them, using various approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy and talk therapy.

What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing which is a type of therapy used to help people process traumatic experiences and reduce the negative impact they have on their lives. EMDR involves a series of eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation that help the brain reprocess the traumatic memories in a more adaptive way, lessening their intensity.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the current moment, without judgment. It involves attention to your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, and accepting them without trying to change or control them. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress improve focus and concentration, and enhance overall-being.
